29Apr2013:Photo 119

Working in the pharmaceutical industry, and seeing regularly photos like this in the newspaper whenever there is something in the news about a drug, I wanted to take a photo that could be used in such an article. However, I had to use vitamin pills, as, other than painkillers, they are the only tablets we have in the house...
At first, I took the photo handheld with auto-ISO, and when I cropped the image down to this size, I realised that there was a huge amount of noise. I checked what the ISO was, and it was 1000. I put the camera on the tripod and re-took at ISO 100, which reduced the shutter speed down to 0.5seconds, but the use of the tripod allowed this. The photo is back-lit (by my computer) to give shadows at the front of the tablets, which I thought would add more contrast to the image.
