Week 1, day 2: Where's the roof??

07th May 2014
There's a nip in the air tonight, as the roof has been removed and there is a gale howling through the tarpaulin!

Photos 1-3: So the scaffolders have erected the scaffolding today - and then the roof tiles were removed. The tarpaulin was secured in place, in preparation for the forthcoming rain tonight and tomorrow. Looking like a building site from the outside now!

Photos 4-6: Inside, the pile of rubbish for the skip is growing, with debris from the roof and ceiling from utility room. The fridge has come out of the utility room and is now positioned in the kitchen - it's even more handy for the milk for the cornflakes now!

The tarpaulin is rather noisy - apparently the weather was nice and calm until the moment it was put over the roof, when the wind picked up. I don't think the rain will be quiet either - so we're going to have to dig out the ear plugs if we are to get any sleep! I'm not sure how long it will be until the new roof will go on, but as we don't have the planning permission decision for the full height roof yet - it certainly won't be anytime soon. Hoping for beautiful sunny, windless days for the rest of the project now...
