Week 15, day 4: Day 101...
14th August 2014
In the words of O'Brien from Nineteen Eighty Four, who tortures Winston in Room 101, "The thing that is in Room 101 is the worst thing in the world." I hoped this didn't ring true for Day 101. And, thankfully, all is good.
Photos 1 and 2: The plasterers finished plastering the main bedroom - apart from the stuff in it still, it looks like a bedroom now!

Photo 3: In the bathroom, the poor surface on the left was fully boarded today. If we had just tried to tidy it up, it never would have looked good painted. In addition, the ceiling plasterboard was replaced, rather than just being de-artexed - and this has meant that our last light upstairs has now gone. We are left with one bedside lamp, and a head torch.

Photo 4: Downstairs in the library, the plasterers have bonded the space where the coving was, to make it good.

The builders worked in the en suite today, plumbing the various bits in.
Photo 5: The cistern for the back to wall toilet is now in place (and full of water). Apparently, it took a while to decide where to put the toilet - all 5 of them had a go at sitting on it, before they made the final decision. Would have been good to be a fly on the wall for that discussion! The holes for the toilet soil pipe and the sink pipes have also been cut into the unit, ready for final fix plumbing next week.

Photos 6-8: The shower was also plumbed in - including the valve on the wall opposite the nooks, and the shower head in the ceiling. It all works a dream, although the demo was in a bucket only as the floor and walls are not yet water tight. The pipe work for the valve was rather tricky! The cables for the nook lighting have been pulled through now, ready for final fix electrics next week.
