Week 3. day 2: All fall down...
22nd May 2014
Today, the final joists went in above the utility room today - they did a great job. It obviously didn't take long because I came home from work to see this:
Photo 1: The chimney is no more! We didn't realise there were gas pipes in the stack - perhaps we could put a nice gas fire in. Too late now I think!

Worse was to come though, when I'm told the gable wall has fallen down... A sudden gust of wind must have pulled the tarpaulin that pulled the wall down.
Photos 2 and 3: There are rather a lot of bricks on the floor in the Library now - and you can see the sky!

Photo 4: There are a lot of bricks on the floor in the utility as well...

Photos 5 to 8: The tarpaulin fixer...We hope the re-attached blue roof stays on until Tuesday when the builders will be back!

Photo 9: Whilst up on the scaffolding, I took the opportunity to photograph the skip from above - I can't normally see in it!
