Week 4, day 2: The rain came down and the bricks went up
28th May 2014
Finally, after what seems like ages just waiting, the brickie came today to start raising the walls up. It was touch and go at the start of the day as to whether he would do anything given the rainy forecast, but he started off in the drizzle and thankfully the rain held off and drizzle was all he had to contend with. He was lent the labourer to help him take the bricks up and make cement, and they made excellent progress:

Photos 2 and 3: Inside, the only real difference was the purchase of swanky new tarpaulins today!

Photo 4: Also today, as an aside, and without the builders, we dismantled the housing around the electricity and gas meters so we could see where the cables and pipes were and to think about how to move them and whether we need to get someone in for £1500 to move the gas meter.

Photo 5: Finally for today, a picture of my first rose of the year.
